Eugenio Garoglio with Massimo and Marco Garavelli
On Saturday, April 18 at 9 PM in Chiomonte at the Church of Santa Caterina on Via Vescovado, there will be a presentation of the cahier of the Ecomuseum Colombano Romean no. 34 Vauban at the Forte di Exilles The last projects for the bastion of the Sun King in the Dauphiné "this side of the mountains" edited by Eugenio Garoglio and Massimo Garavelli.
The latest cahier published in the Ecomuseum Colombano Romean series outlines the history of the projects planned by Vauban for Exilles and the defense of the borders of the Upper Dora Valley in France before the Treaty of Utrecht, which sanctioned the cession to the Savoy.
Rich iconography and partially unpublished documents from the French Army archives in Vincennes dating back to the late 1600s and early 1700s. It testifies to the last French attempt to defend the territories of the Dauphiné on this side of the mountains and the end of the Escartons.
