Natural reserves

Ultimo aggiornamento: Jan. 23, 2024

The Authority also manages two Nature Reserves, established respectively in 1980 (Chianocco Reserve) and 1998 (Forest Reserve), located in the middle Susa Valley on the orographic left.

The reserves were created with the aim of protecting the ravines present, deep incisions in which there is a continuous process of erosion, characterized by ravines, overhangs, gullies, precipices and overhangs within which various hiking itineraries develop.

Both reserves are characterized by a Mediterranean climate, which makes them ideal places for walking even in the middle of winter and allows the establishment of various species of plants such as the Coccolone Juniper or the Holm Oak and from a faunal point of view the presence of numerous species of birds.
