Domenica 7 giugno a Torino le Aree naturali protette del Piemonte saranno protagoniste al festival Cinemambiente con un villaggio dedicato ai parchi e alle riserve naturali, allestito all’esterno del Cinema Massimo, sede della manifestazione, e con un premio speciale che sarà attribuito al documentario che maggiormente si sarà distinto per la trattazione dei temi legati alla biodiversità.

After the activities of scientific fishing for wels catfish conducted in the Natural Park of the Avigliana Lakes in April (the report can be found here), a second campaign was carried out in May by the staff of the National Research Council – Water Research Institute (CNR – IRSA) with the support of the park rangers of the Protected Areas of the Cozie Alps.

As the school holidays approach, the first cycle of educational activities proposed by the Protected Areas of the Cozie Alps as part of the Life Predator Project for the containment of catfish in the waters of the Nature Park of Avigliana Lakes has concluded. The initiative, financed by the European Union, indeed includes a series of educational and outreach actions aimed at raising citizens' awareness about the issues raised by the illegal introduction of the aquatic predator – an invasive alien species – in the freshwater basins of Southern Europe and about what is being done in the Avigliana Lakes to combat its spread.

In the months of June and July 2026, monitoring of the stag beetle will begin in the Avigliana Lakes Natural Park. The staff from the Biodiversity and Surveillance areas of the Cozie Alps Parks have decided to start a scientific activity to control Lucanus cervus, which is listed by the European Union as a protected species under the Habitat Directive and is considered to be declining. The aim is to assess its health status in the most suitable area among those managed by the Park Authority.

On Friday, May 22, 2026, an information session titled “Future of Val Troncea? Let's Decide Together!” took place in Pragelato, which was entirely open to dialogue and listening to the people who manage, work, oversee, and live in the Val Troncea Natural Park. The goal of the day was to listen to and gather requests from stakeholders, to be evaluated and developed in anticipation of drafting the future Area Plan of the Park.

In 2022, two park rangers from the Protected Areas of the Cottian Alps participated in a monitoring conducted in Aosta Valley as part of the international project GLobal Observation Research Initiative in Alpine environments (GLORIA) to measure the interaction between alpine flora and climate change. After a complex process of data reprocessing, the results of the fieldwork conducted under the guidance of ARPA Aosta Valley were published, with contributions from the Department of Life Sciences and Biological Systems (DBIOS) of the University of Turin and the Mont Avic Natural Park
