On Friday, April 10 at 6 PM in Sestriere at the Cinema Fraiteve in Piazza Fraiteve 5, screening of the French-language film Les secrets des Escartons. La charte des libertés briançonnaises by Michel Faurè.
Introduction by Bruno Usseglio.
From the "Great Charter" of 1343 to modern cross-border projects: the Escartons represent a unique organization that for five centuries has allowed alpine communities to share resources and values. This documentary retraces the events that shook the territory across the Alps—from the Treaty of Utrecht to the French Revolution—analyzing a shared historical and cultural past between Italy and France.
Through the reading of these common roots, the film demonstrates how historical memory can become a valuable tool to look to the future with hope and awareness.
