Parenaperde - Occitan Dances

Sauze d'Oulx, Saturday 28 February 2026
Parenaperde

Parenaperde

Saturday, February 28 at 6 PM in Sauze d'Oulx at the Conference Hall of the Tourism Office, Viale Genevris, 7, a dance concert.

The Parenaperde group presents traditional music from the upper Dora Valley: The enthusiasm of being able to propose live popular music from alpine tradition, shared with a group of dancer friends, has made it possible for this project to materialize, bringing back sounds from another time into our Valleys. The proposed musical repertoire selects music and dances from the Upper Susa Valley and the entire Occitan area in general, with particular attention to the transalpine French valleys that are so rich in traditional cultural music for listening and dancing.
The Parenaperde group has collaborated with the ArTeMuDa Association and in particular with Renato Sibille on the projects “Vira’ virandole” and “To make good music, always play,” resulting in two publications accompanied by audio CDs containing an unpublished collection of traditional music and songs from the Upper Susa Valley.
By the way, “pa ren a perde” in the local patois means…nothing to lose!
Duration: 2 hours
Simone Del Savio: vocals, violin, mandolin, and bassetto
Massimo Falco: vocals, clarinets, musettes, and piffero
Giorgio Fasano: organetto, bouzuki
Riccardo Micalizzi: vocals and organetto
