Jacopo Rinaldi and G.A. Levis, artists in dialogue a century apart - Pinacoteca G.A. Levis

On Sunday, February 1 at 11 AM in Chiomonte at the G.A. Levis Pinacoteca, thematic visit on the occasion of the exhibition Tree Tops and Table Legs "Jacopo Rinaldi and G.A. Levis, artists in dialogue a century apart".

The temporary exhibition Tree Tops and Table Legs by Jacopo Rinaldi is the result of an artist residency that, starting from the objects of material culture preserved in ethnographic museums and inspired by the past and present festivals and rituals of the Susa Valley, has given rise to a series of works that integrate craftsmanship with an analysis of archetypal form. Rinaldi traces in rotation a recurring principle of the region's craftsmanship: from the spindle for hand-spinning to the spinning top, passing through dancing spindles (like the Pouento of Chiomonte), tree tops used in arboreal rituals and religious processions, from ancient times to today. The wooden sculptures on display become essential forms that connect the past and contemporaneity, ritual and play, technique and narrative.
