The Colombano Romean Ecomuseum is not a conventional museum and does not tell the story of great leaders, but rather the story of ordinary people who, through their work, laid the foundations for our future.
The ice house, built to preserve the ice produced in winter in the nearby pond as an alternative to that extracted from the Galambra glacier at 3000 meters above sea level and 5 hours' walk from Salbertrand; the hydraulic mill evolved from feudal milling rights to the Municipal Electric Company... For millennia, humans have strived to improve their living and working conditions.
It is essential to have a perfect knowledge of the raw materials at one's disposal and a good deal of ingenuity to adapt them to one's needs.
A journey into industrial archaeology: the equipment used was simple but extremely functional.
Would we still be able to use certain tools?
Do we know what they were used for?
Would we be able to make them?
All that's left is to discover it by playing!
The excursion will lead us to visit some sections of the Colombano Romean Ecomuseum where structures, artifacts, and tools used in the daily life of mountain people create demonstrative points of productive activities carried out with traditional techniques.
Throughout the day, playful and educational activities will be carried out aimed at stimulating powers of observation and intuition. The discovery of materials and techniques used for producing tools once used daily, of which today it becomes difficult to recognize the function, will provide interesting food for thought.
All day
