The turn has led to the bartavèllë

On Thursday, April 17 at 5:30 PM in Oulx, in the Beaulard district at the former school, the third meeting of a cycle of 12 encounters dedicated to the Occitan language in the Alta Valle di Susa Tournâ a menâ la bartavèllë (to return to leading the conversation, to speak our language).

Occitan speakers from the area are invited to share testimonies useful for recovering the various local dialects, from Chiomonte to Sauze di Cesana, from Sestriere to Bardonecchia.

This initiative, organized by Chambra d'Oc as part of the Chantar l’uvern festival, stems from the desire to recover the culture and local dialect of the Alta Valle di Susa. Each evening, to which all Occitan speakers of the Alta Valle will be invited, will be centered on a specific theme, and passages by a local Occitan writer will be read (tradition, landscape, reading, proverbs and sayings, etc.). Renato Sibille, a local expert in Occitan literature and language, will provide a historical introduction followed by readings to encourage storytelling from those present. There will also be moments of exchange and discussion: actively participating in conversations will help stimulate memories and aid in re-acquiring the language through small milestones, such as learning some everyday phrases.

As part of the setwelfth edition of "Chantar l'Uvèrn. From Epiphany to Easter, fragments of Occitan, Francoprovençal, and French language and culture": the cultural festival that enhances original creations and promotes the Occitan, Francoprovençal, and French language and culture through a rich and widespread territorial animation with musical, theatrical, anthropological, documentary, and environmental events.
