On Sunday, July 26 at 9 PM in Pragelato, Casa Escartons, there will be a presentation of the book Historic Mills of Piedmont, edited by Marianna Sasanelli and Emanuela Genre of the Italian Association of Historic Mills Section Piedmont and Aosta Valley.

A text to discover stories, uniqueness, and traditions of Piedmont through unique witnesses: the mills.
The development of the art of milling has been one of the most significant moments for the development of Western civilization. The creation of a mill has always brought with it interests of a social, economic, political, and technological nature, and even today, the water or wind mill represents a technological invention of fundamental importance, which over time has evolved to be used in the most varied contexts: from grinding to mineral processing, from sawmills to oil mills.
Tracing the history of Piedmontese mills means rediscovering stories and traditions that have seemed, to most, of secondary importance so far, but which have actually been fundamental parts of a broader historical process and the formation of the identity of our territory. A different guide, an original key to explore the history and traditions of the Piedmontese territory, from the first belt of Turin to Canavese, from Cuneo to Ossola, from Pinerolo to Vercelli, from Valsesia to the Susa Valley, from the Sangone Valley to Novarese to the Chierese hills.
