Ambin: the Rock and the Feather

On Friday, February 28 at 6 PM in Sestriere, Cinema Fraiteve, screening of the Docufilm Ambin: the rock and the feather, directed by Fredo Valla, produced by Chambra d’Oc on behalf of UMAVS, project Alcotra AMB.ENIS

In exploring it, Ambin reveals the consciousness of our present. A mirrored image in the memories of our past. It reveals itself as an obstacle, a stumbling mountain and a transit for man's pathways: a barrier and a junction. A hostile and inhospitable place, filled with fortresses and pointed cannons, but also of peaceful sports, explorations of glaciers and peaks, and of woods filled with cows, milk and cheese. In its memory of stone and ice, in its vastness, Ambin, scorched by our times of climate change, preserves the image of armies and horsemen, even elephants, and the passages of saints, artists, popes… and days of sun, wind, snow, storms and avalanches, of ancient seas, and of pilgrims traveling… of burned colors, of sun, of water, of dryness, of smugglers, hunters, fugitives and migrants… of animals that have survived in legend and memory. Even of encounters (and clashes) of languages: Occitan, Franco-Provençal, Italian, French, and Piedmontese. A vast mountain, Ambin: of open borders, of closed borders… because Ambin is, it is not… because Ambin is… the mountain of complexities.

From Epiphany to Easter, fragments of Occitan, Franco-Provençal and French language and culture": the cultural review that enhances original creations and promotes Occitan, Franco-Provençal and French language and culture through a rich and widespread territorial animation with musical, theatrical, anthropological, documentary and environmental events.
