The dancers of the old ball

In San Giorio di Susa at 5 PM, in the multipurpose hall at via Carlo Carli 150, a dance workshop dedicated to the dances of Sanfront in Valle Po, with Laura and Umberto Borsetti. Following this, there will be a screening of the documentary I Balerin Del Bal Veij by Andrea Fantino produced by Chambra d'Oc with the collaboration of the Balerin del Bal Veij and Piemonte Cultura, featuring Laura Borsetti, Umberto Borsetti, Margherita Ferrato, Maria Canavese, Maria Bessone, Letizia Ferrato, Margherita Malvezzi, Michelina Martino, Giuseppina Ferrato.

The film is dedicated to the dances of Sanfront in Valle Po: courenta sembia, courenta baratoira, balet, giga, bourea, inglesa, tersa, tola, spousin, dances that were performed in Sant'Agata and surrounding areas during festivities, on weekdays, both publicly and privately. It takes us back in time with precious witnesses, fragile and strong memories alike, a film with women who tell their stories and share experiences, often having fun and entertaining those who listen. The tenderness of a distant world, which seems to return every time a melody or a choreography is heard and danced once again.

As part of the seleventh edition of "Chantar l'Uvèrn. From Epiphany to Easter, fragments of Occitan, Francoprovençal, and French language and culture": a cultural festival that enhances original creations and promotes Occitan, Francoprovençal, and French language and culture through a rich and extensive territorial animation with musical, theatrical, anthropological, documentary, and environmental events.
