Berton Chat Group

On Friday, April 4 at 5 PM, in Claviere, near the Church, there will be a musical show featuring Trio Chat Berton. In case of bad weather, the event will not be postponed but will take place in another location to be determined.

The name of the group refers to the legend of the lost Cat Berton on the mountain of the same name, Chaberton. This mountain, which marks the border between France and Italy, has been at the center of the epic of the Escartons for centuries. It was chosen as a symbol of “trait d'union” between Occitan populations on both sides of the border. The group's aim is to enhance the heritage of traditional music and dances from the Occitan regions.

Featuring:
Luca Martin Poetto: hurdy-gurdy, voice, galoubet, and tonton
Giorgio Ferraris: bagpipes, flutes, and voice

As part of the stwelfth edition of "Chantar l'Uvèrn. From Epiphany to Easter, fragments of Occitan, Franco-Provençal, and French language and culture": the cultural review that enhances original creations and promotes Occitan, Franco-Provençal, and French languages and culture through a rich and comprehensive territorial animation with musical, theatrical, anthropological, documentary, and environmental events.
