Theatrical show I Baudissard
On Sunday, February 2nd at 5 PM in the parish hall of Mentoulles, Fenestrelle, a theatrical performance by the Artemuda APS Association The Baudissard, deserters and bandits of the mountains.
A theatrical performance that tells the story of the Baudissard brothers from Mentoulle in the Val Chisone. Two of them, Alessandro and Luigi, are deserters from World War I who became bandits against their will because they were hunted by law enforcement as deserters. A third brother, Ernesto, married to Mattie in the Val di Susa, joins them. The three bandits move between Val Chisone, Valle di Susa, Brianzonese, the Lanzo Valleys, and Canavese. Although they try to rebuild a life of honest work, in France they are accused of murdering the parish priest of La Bessée where they were guests of a fourth brother, the shoemaker Pietro known as Giulio. Forced to go into hiding: Luigi is killed, Ernesto arrested, and Alessandro, who returned to Italy, will be captured and sentenced to life imprisonment.
