A continuity appointment, pending the new designation

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, the Regional Council of Piedmont deliberated the appointment of a commissioner for the Management Authority of the protected areas of the Cozie Alps for the transition period necessary for the appointment of a new president. This is a required action, following the expiration of the Council and President whose terms ended on January 22, 2025, affecting all regional management park entities. For the Cozie Alps Parks, the appointed commissioner is Alberto Valfrè, who has been the President of the park authority since 2022 and cannot remain in office for more than 6 months.
The next institutional steps foresee, from the Piedmont Region, the selection of a new president from the applications submitted by November 18, 2024, and the designation of representatives from the agricultural and environmental sectors within the Council following the indications submitted by January 28, 2025. The names will be submitted for approval to the Community of Protected Areas before the final appointment by the President of the Regional Council. It is recalled that the Council of the Cozie Alps Parks is composed of 4 representatives from the territorial area, already indicated to the Piedmont Region by the Community on December 27, 2024, and 2 representatives indicated respectively by the legally recognized agricultural and environmental associations.
