The evening is called Drops of Change, as the title of the videos produced by the Interreg Aclimo project on the topic of water resource management in the Protected Areas of the Western Alps. Appointment on Friday, March 21 at 9 PM at the municipal cinema of Condove (TO) in Piazza Martiri della Libertà, 13 for the first public screening of the footage, organized thanks to the collaboration of the Protected Areas of the Cozie Alps with the Valsusa Filmfest on the occasion of the World Water Day. A conference made of images and words with Luca Giunti, park ranger, Elena Valsania, director, Bruno Usseglio, park ranger and filmmaker, and Alba Meirone, head of the technical area of the Park Authority.
Drops of Change consists of 8 mini-videos created by director Elena Valsania to tell the best water management experiences in the 8 partner parks of the Interreg Aclimo project. In an era characterized by climate changes, even in Protected Areas, new challenges of adaptation to prolonged drought periods or, conversely, to phases of unusually abundant precipitation are faced to safeguard traditional human activities and the fragile ecological balances of wetland areas. One of them was filmed in the Cozie Alps Parks, specifically in the Natural Park of Val Troncea, to recount the construction of an aqueduct, destroyed during the 2000 flood, to supply the ancient pasture of Troncea without harming the environmental and landscape heritage of the area. The other videos were made in the Protected Areas of the Maritime Alps, in the Regional Park of the Ligurian Apennines, in the Gesso and Stura River Park, in the Gran Paradiso National Park, and in the French national parks of Mercantour, Ecrins, and Vanoise.
During the evening, along with the videos from the Drops of Change series focusing on the integration of human activities, environmental protection, and the availability of water resources, some videos on the heritage of lakes and wetlands in the Cozie Alps Parks will be screened, accompanied by commentary from the protagonists and experts on the subject.
