- The 17th edition of the exhibition Chantar l’Uvern: a journey through native languages, nature, and traditions in the Cozie Alps. continues.
In April, Chantar l’Uvern enters the heart of its spring programming, presenting a rich calendar of immersive events in the Susa Valley, Val Cenischia, Val Chisone, Val Germanasca, and Val Sangone with music, theater, cinema, excursions, and language workshops to tell the story of a vibrant and transboundary territory.
The program transforms the Cozie Alps into a space of artistic expression and anthropological reflection, placing at the center the indissoluble bond between man, mountain, and natural landscape.
The main events with the Cozie Alps Parks:
- In San Giorio di Susa, on Wednesday, April 1, the fourth and final appointment of the series of meetings dedicated to the environment BiodivTourAlps: for more conscious perspectives and steps: Biodiversity where you least expect it: the case of Malpasso, from extractive area to treasure of biodiversity, curated by park rangers Davide Giuliano and Alberto Cellerino.
The initiative, organized by the Cozie Alps Parks in collaboration with the Felce e Mirtillo Association as part of the Resistenza Bio-lenta project, sponsored by the municipalities of San Giorio and Mompantero and by the Mountain Union of the Susa Valley, will conclude on Saturday, April 18, with a excursion in the territory of Mompantero, in the ZSC Xerotermic Oasis of the Susa Valley.
- There will be more talks on biodiversity on Thursday, April 9 at Sant'Antonino di Susa at the Pharmacy of Knowledge as part of a new cycle of meetings in collaboration with the Borgo Sant'Agata Association: Where Vultures Fly, an in-depth meeting on vultures and other raptors that live in the Alps, curated by Giuseppe Roux Poignant, park ranger of the Cozie Alps Parks.
- On Friday, April 10 in Sestriere, the past and future of the high lands will be discovered with the screening of the French-language film Les secrets des Escartons. The Charter of Briançonnais Freedoms by Michel Faurè: the story of a unique organization that for five centuries allowed alpine communities to share resources, values, and culture. This documentary retraces the events that shook the territory across the Alps, analyzing the shared historical and cultural past between Italy and France.
- More culture, on Saturday, April 18 at Chiomonte at the Church of Santa Caterina with the presentation of the cahier of the Ecomuseum Colombano Romean No. 34 Vauban at the Fort of Exilles: The latest projects for the bastion of the Sun King in the Dauphiné "over the mountains", curated by Eugenio Garoglio and Massimo Garavelli. The history of the projects planned by Vauban for Exilles and the defense of the borders of the Upper Dora Valley in France before the Treaty of Utrecht that sanctioned the cession to the Savoy. A rich iconography and partially unpublished documents from the archives of the French army in Vincennes dating from the late 1600s to the early 1700s testify to the extreme French attempt to defend the territories of the Dauphiné this side of the mountains and the end of the Escartons.
- On Sunday, April 19, Agnes Dijaux from the French Language Desk of Chambra d'Oc will accompany us on an ethnobotanical walk from the Amazas hamlet of Oulx to Soubras where Dario and Rosalba Milesi will welcome us to tell the story of the village… as if we were in 1900: herbs and ancient remedies.
Numerous other initiatives are also planned in the municipalities of the Valleys and their hamlets, designed to involve tourists, but above all the local communities and all those who live in the mountains year-round, strengthening the sense of belonging to cultural identity.
