The third weekend of July is dedicated to the FESTIVAL OF PIEMONTE AT COLLE DELL’ASSIETTA.

On Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, the Associassiôn Festa dël Piemônt al Còl ëd l'Assieta will go up to Colle dell’Assietta for the 58th edition of The Battle of Assietta of 1747.

The Metropolitan City of Turin, the managing body of the high-altitude road of Assietta, which crosses two protected areas - Orsiera Rocciavrè Park and the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Natural Park - has established one-way traffic regulated by monitoring personnel.

On Saturday, July 18, the Road Management 2 of the Metropolitan City of Turin has provided for an exemption to the ban on motorized vehicle circulation on the Assietta Road, the sp 173 from Pian dell’Alpe to Col Basset: campers, caravans, and tents can ascend to camp at the Rifugio Assietta.

On Sunday, July 19:

  • from 6 AM to 12 PM, one-way traffic will be in effect uphill from Pian dell’Alpe (km 34, junction with the municipal road to Balboutet of Usseaux) to Colle dell’Assietta (km 22+750).
  • from 2 PM to 6 PM, on the same stretch of Sp 173, one-way traffic is established downhill from Colle dell’Assietta to Pian dell’Alpe.
