The rules for motorized vehicle circulation within the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Natural Park consist of a set of regulations and administrative acts that, applied in a coordinated/combined manner, govern the matter.

In particular, the following laws are valid for the applicable and effective parts: LR 32/1982, LR 16/1991, LR 19/2009, as well as the following administrative acts approved by the former Management Authority of the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Natural Park: DGE 56/1991, DD 28/1998, DGE 84/2007, DGE 95/2007, DGE 42/2009, DD 118/2009, DGE 23/2010.

In particular:

  • access and circulation with any type of motorized vehicle, outside the specifically identified and marked paths for reaching the equipped areas, is prohibited; vehicles from Public Administrations and those of private individuals engaged in agricultural and forestry work, hydraulic and forestry works, emergency operations, and firefighting are exempt from this prohibition;
  • it is forbidden to drive off-road with motorized vehicles throughout the Park's territory: however, off-road paths necessary for the conduct of agricultural and forestry activities, as well as for surveillance and public service activities, are allowed with any mechanical means;
  • vehicle access points to roads closed to traffic are blocked with movable barriers and must be reclosed after the passage of authorized vehicles;
  • the maximum speed limit for all mechanical vehicles within the Park is 15 kilometers per hour, except for rescue and surveillance vehicles.

The Authority issues specific permits for designated routes and for self-declared reasons.

The permits do not exempt from the obligation to comply with the ordinances and regulations established by the owners of the affected roads (Municipalities, Metropolitan City, State Property, etc.) to whom any requests for exemptions and/or specific authorizations must be directed.

Indications and warnings:

  • the issued permits must be presented if requested by the control staff of the Park Authority and, especially during parking, must be displayed on motor vehicles in such a way as to be clearly visible from the outside;
  • the permits lose all validity at the end of the time period for which they were issued or, in any case, in the event of changes in the subjective conditions of the applicants or the reasons declared at the time of application;
  • the permits are issued only for the designated routes and for the only reasons declared at the time of application;
  • depending on the different types of permits required, as well as the necessary processing for issuance, it is advisable to submit the request to the Park Authority well in advance of one's needs.
