Chantar l'Uvèrn

Ultimo aggiornamento: Feb. 11, 2026

17th edition: from Candlemas to May 1st, 2026

A review of cultural events spread across the Alpine valleys, featuring music, theater, cinema, and minority languages

Chantar l’Uvèrn is the cultural review born on the occasion of the Winter Olympics in Turin 2006 with the initiative “Occitan lenga Olimpica”. Edition after edition, it has embraced many communities that together offer a rich program of events during the winter to experience the territory and its identity. The cultural offer has always stood out for the richness and variety of proposals that highlight the value of culture, minority languages, and biodiversity.

The initiative has always been coordinated by the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Natural Park and the Colombano Romean Ecomuseum (now Protected Areas of the Cozie Alps), by the Chambra d’Oc Association, and by the Oral Memory Documentation Center of Giaglione, with the important support of the Metropolitan City of Turin.

The new proposal for 2026 is the result of the collaborative work of the promoters and 30 municipalities from Val di Susa, Val Chisone, Val Sangone, and Val Germanasca that have joined: Avigliana, Bardonecchia, Bussoleno, Caprie, Cesana Torinese, Chianocco, Chiomonte, Claviere, Coazze, Condove, Exilles, Fenestrelle, Giaglione, Giaveno, Gravere, Massello, Mattie, Meana di Susa, Mompantero, Moncenisio, Oulx, Pragelato, San Giorio di Susa, Sant’Antonino di Susa, Sauze d’Oulx, Sauze di Cesana, Sestriere, Susa, Usseaux, Vaie, Villar Focchiardo.

Calendar of the exhibition

The XVII edition of the cultural review Chantar l'Uvèrn offers a program with over 70 events (shows, conferences, thematic meetings, book presentations, films, minority language courses, and workshops).

Bussoleno hosts the opening event on Sunday, February 1, 2026, starting at 3 PM at the multipurpose center with the project Tsant’an Tsamin, for the launch of the review: a return to the territory with the sharing of the anthology Tsant’an Tsamin, followed by a singing workshop with Marzia Rey, Gigi Ubaudi, Flavio Giacchero, and Luca Teghillo. In the late afternoon, there will be more music and dancing with the group Blu l’Azard.

Following are many events, including the qualifying event of the review hosted in Salbertrand, at the headquarters of the Gran Bosco Natural Park,  on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day - Saturday, February 21 - with the conference “Feminine Poetry in the Occitan Valleys.”

All initiatives, community by community, aim to reach everyone, including fractions and village hamlets, and will continue until May. The calendar, agreed upon with the municipalities and with the collaboration of many local associations, draws strength precisely from the communities and the people who live in the mountains and valleys all year round.

On Saturday, May 2 at Moncenisio - at the Ecomuseum Terre al Confine (from 4 PM) folk concert with Ludovico Sanmartino and Matteo Pons - and in Exilles - at the former barracks multipurpose center (9 PM) presentation of the cahier of the Ecomuseum Colombano Romean no. 34 Vauban at the Fort of Exilles. The latest projects for the Sun King's bastion in the Dauphiné "on this side of the mountains" curated by Eugenio Garoglio and Massimo Garavelli - the curtain falls on the review, followed by some closing dates for courses and meeting cycles.
