Photo of a Wolf - Poster LWA EU
The educational proposal is linked to the Life WolfAlps EU project, which aims to improve coexistence between wolves and human activities and ensure the long-term conservation of wolves in the Alps.
If you think of the wolf, what comes to mind? Who is he, where does he live, what does he eat? Should we be afraid of him? Recent studies tell of a more "wild" Italy than it has ever been in the last few hundred years but also of a territory that has undergone profound environmental changes and a different way of "living" spaces by humans compared to the past. If we add the latest scientific studies and cutting-edge technologies to this, perhaps we will have new interpretations that will help navigate the multifaceted "Wolf Planet."
We will learn to know the "real" wolf, we will be able to distinguish it from the animal present in stories and from the sensationalistic one evoked in the newspapers. With scientific rigor, we will deepen our knowledge of this predator, discover what monitoring and study methods have been used by researchers in European projects and beyond. We will have updated data on the presence of the species in our territories and investigate the relationships that the wolf establishes with other living beings and with the surrounding environment.
A journey that will allow us to acquire tools and knowledge to form an opinion and be able to evaluate with greater expertise the information disseminated about the wolf.
Depending on the chosen protected area, it is possible to carry out the activity in all seasons.
Cost covered by the school
