  • Starting from the artifacts in the village of Salbertrand, understand how humans have learned to exploit the resources of the territory

A path designed to stimulate students' interest in a careful reading both from a scientific and historical-cultural perspective of the environment that surrounds them.

Description

Chalcopyrite and magnetite mines, lime kilns, millstones, fountains, houses with slate roofs and refined architectural details are just a few examples of how humans have known how to exploit, according to their characteristics, the geological resources of the territory.
An excursion in the park to talk about geology, a visit to the Ecomuseum Colombano Romean to discuss ancient crafts and material culture.

Methodology

Visiting the mineral exhibition at the Gran Bosco Park, didactic hub of the Geopark of the Cozie Alps, will allow for a first multisensory approach to learning how to distinguish and classify minerals and rocks based on their physical, chemical characteristics, and formation mode.

During the walk in the Park, there will be recreational and practical activities, and the opportunity to engage in recognizing the main outcropping rocks.

Walking through the streets of the village of Salbertrand and visiting some sites of the Ecomuseum Colombano Romean will help us understand the use that humans have made of them.
