The epic CrossAlps crossing, a project conceived by CAI Parma to traverse the entire Alpine arc from east to west, on foot, with skis, and by bicycle, arrives in Bardonecchia!
The CrossAlps Villages, itinerant stops open to the public with meetings, testimonies, and workshops, are one of the key elements of this project.
On Saturday, June 7th, in Bardonecchia, starting at 11:00 AM in Piazza Valle Stretta, the CrossAlps Village will be set up, featuring thematic stands, tastings, testimonies, and a photographic installation.
In the foyer of the Palace of Festivals, the exhibition “From Walter Bonatti to Alberto Re” will be inaugurated, dedicated to the great Alpine guides of Bardonecchia.
In the afternoon, in the Viglione Hall of the Palace of Festivals, a scientific conference will take place with contributions from the University of Turin, IGG CNR, Protected Areas Management Authority of the Cozie Alps, and CAI Parma.
Dominating the cultural program will be the theme of climate change. For the Cozie Alps Parks, Barbara Rizzioli will speak: “Who comes and who goes. The effects of climate change on the biodiversity of the Cozie Alps Parks.”
The grand finale in the evening will feature the premiere screening of the documentary “Walter Bonatti in Bardonecchia,” curated by Riccardo Topazio and with the participation of Roberto Mantovani.
Admission is free until all seats are filled.
