Structure rebuilt on the ruins of an old typical house, located in the heart of the Val Troncea Natural Park.
It houses a large dining room and on the two upper floors we find the rooms, for a total of 40 beds.
From the refuge you can reach Alpe Mey, at the head of the valley floor, or the Forni di San Martino, a very panoramic point or Colle del Beth, Mount Ghinivert, Colle Arcano, Mount Barifreddo, Mount Appenna.
It is possible to reach the Germanasca valley or the Argentera valley.
In summer you go up to the refuge along a comfortable dirt road inside the park and not accessible by motorized vehicles. We start from the Pattemouche hamlet of Pragelato and go up the Troncea valley. You pass under the Laval village and enter the park. Further on, you leave the dirt road that continues the valley and take a detour to the left that leads to a hill where the hamlet of Troncea and the refuge are located. in about an hour and a half from Pattemouche, with a height difference of 300 m. After the hamlet of Laval you can turn left to take an alternative route, passing through the abandoned hamlet of Seytes. This variation turns out to be more demanding than the valley floor route.
In winter it can be reached on cross-country skis, ski mountaineering skis or by following the Snowshoe Trail, an equipped and signposted route to be used with snowshoes.
