The exhibition area is reminiscent of the forest, the dominant environment of the Park, with four pillars in raw local larch and a larch staircase with wide treads and a square structure; various dioramas are set up (the showcase of diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey, the educational showcase on the birdlife of the Park, from passerines to birds of prey, and, in the long under-staircase, the diorama of the Alpine environment, from high-altitude meadows to forests, from shrublands to riverbeds) and a rich display of deer antlers and artifacts. An interactive totem allows you to listen to the sounds of wild animals.
The visitor center also houses a magnificent taxidermy specimen of a wolf. A large interactive trunk, with doors and drawers, allows you to discover the "forest" environment, the trees that make it up, the fungi, the animals that inhabit it and their tracks, the legends that animate it, and the games that illustrate it...
In the atrium there is an information and promotional products sales point, as well as a bookshop.
From the visitor center, you can access the conference room with 99 seats where a series of informative panels guide the visitor to discover the characteristics of the Protected Area.
In 2008, a new visit wing was built to host the "Spazio Escarton" Documentation Center, a real welcome and documentation center capable of safeguarding and making known the peculiarities of our Valleys: a promotional showcase of the tourist offer, a dissemination center of informational material, an entertainment area, a meeting and exchange area. It houses a multimedia model with which you can interact to discover the reference territory, its environments, history, language, architecture, traditions, initiatives undertaken... It also has a thematic library, a well-equipped 30-seat educational room, and a rich display of rocks and minerals from the area, created by drawing on a collection made within the "Mountains born from the sea" interreg project and thanks to the contribution of experts and collectors. The mineralogical and petrographic exhibition is part of the setups dedicated to the exploitation of the mines in the Salbertrand area, which find a counterpart in the Ecomuseum site dedicated to the Mine.
The building, located on the outskirts of the protected area, is also accessible by public transportation (train) and on foot from the highway service areas and allows easy access to the main hiking trails that cross the Park: Franchi Trail, Via Francigena, Great Alpine Crossing, Glorious Valdesian Repatriation and Ecomuseum Path and Forest Education Trail, which among woods and meadows reaches the educational classroom in the woods and the ecomuseum sites within the protected area.
The visitor center is fully accessible to disabled people and equipped to welcome visitors and especially school groups.
