Bivouac at Lake Laus

The bivouac is located at an altitude of m. 2274 s.l.m. in the Orsiera Rocciavrè Natural Park, the structure is entrusted to the Cottian Alps Parks by the Municipality of Roure.

Access: from the Selleries Refuge (2035 m above sea level - tel. 0121.842664) on the ETOS 339 - ETOS 339a hiking trails with signs along the route and at the crossroads.

A deposit of firewood is present in the small woodshed next to the building, the wood is cut annually but the requirement for all users cannot be guaranteed (it depends on the consumption that each person will make of it).

Water: about 100 meters from the structure, following path 339A, near the lake, there is a spring.

In winter the functioning of the electrical system cannot be guaranteed; otherwise the room and the woodshed are illuminated by ceiling lights using timed switches.

Please remember that all waste must be brought back to the valley and correctly disposed of by tourists.

Important: do not leave food scraps or anything else that could attract rodents.

The bivouac is in good condition having been renovated in summer 2015.

In case of problems (overcrowding, inability to light the stove or other) the Selleries refuge and the car park are 45 minutes downhill; It is strongly advised against arriving at Laus at sunset, therefore it is recommended to evaluate the timing as best as possible so as to be able to go back down in case of difficulty in staying overnight.
