Discover and love nature - Program from August 21 to 30

Every Friday, throughout the summer of 2026, we update the website with the events in the Parks of the Cozie Alps scheduled for the next 10 days. This year's calendar is titled "Discover and love the nature of the Protected Areas of the Cozie Alps" and features a rich proposal of events, conferences, guided tours, and exhibitions to enliven the days of all those who choose to visit the valleys of Susa, Chisone, and Sangone, the Natural Parks, the Special Reserves, and Sites of the Natura 2000 Network managed by the Park Authority.

Friday, August 21 in Chiomonte

Aper-biodiversity at Frais

Easy free hike with the park ranger, discovering the biodiversity around us, with many "Biodiversity Nuggets". The outing will be led by Luca Giunti, park ranger of the Protected Areas of the Cozie Alps, particularly of the Orsiera Rocciavrè Natural Park.
Duration 2 hours.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for mountain hiking.
Meeting point: 3:30 PM at Musy park in front of the new church of St. Bartholomew.

Saturday, August 22 in Salbertrand

Herbal Exploration

An easy half-day hike in the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Natural Park guided by Simone Siviero from the Parks of Alpi Cozie; an ethnobotanical walk discovering medicinal and edible plants.
Meeting point: 9 AM at the parking lot of the equipped area of Pinea.

Cheesemaking demonstration

From 10 AM to 6 PM at Ferrera Moncenisio "Books on the border" Mountain literature festival.

The Parks of Alpi Cozie participate with a cheesemaking demonstration and tasting of typical cheeses led by technician Rosario Decrù.

Wednesday, August 26 in Exilles and Chiomonte

The work in the rock

Guided excursion by the Guides of the Parks of Alpi Cozie to discover an extraordinary work carved into the mountain in the 16th century: the Pertus of Colombano Romean

You will traverse this fascinating hydraulic tunnel (water conditions permitting), exploring the history, ingenuity, and labor of the man who created it. A unique experience between nature, memory, and wonder, in the heart of the Alps.

Departure at 8:00 AM from Salbertrand Train Station
Return around 5:00 PM
Shuttle transport to the Grange della Valle

Challenging hike due to the length of the route and the type of experience.
Overall positive elevation: about 350 meters
Packed lunch to be provided by participants

Essential mountain clothing, rain jacket, suitable hiking shoes, sunscreen, cap, and water. Spare socks and shoes for crossing the Pertus.

The gift of water

At 3:30 PM, itinerant theatrical show "The gift of water" with Roberto Micali, Stephanie Renard, Renato Sibille, Clara Zanni. Live music by Ricky Avataneo.

A choral tale in which the mountain speaks, water remembers, man dares, and myth illuminates. A theatrical journey that celebrates human labor when it becomes a heroic and necessary gesture. Written and directed by Roberto Micali and Renato Sibille.

- for all three or four-wheeled vehicles €5.00 for the day;
- for all three or four-wheeled vehicles €3.00 for a fraction of the day starting from 2 PM;
- for motorcycles €3.00 for the day;
- for motorcycles €2.50 for a fraction of the day starting from 2 PM.
Bicycles can park for free in designated spaces until full.
Near the parking area, there is a refreshment point every day from 10 AM to 6 PM.
