"THE MOUNTAIN SHOW 2025 - OF MAGICAL STORIES AND ENCHANTED MOUNTAINS"
by Onda Teatro
A storytelling and puppet theater performance with live music, featuring Gimmi Basilotta, Isacco Basilotta, and Gaia Marlino, written and directed by Gimmi Basilotta.
As children, once, in elementary school, we learned a funny phrase to remember the name of the Alps: But With Great Difficulty The Kings Go Down; it was a small trick that helped memory, yet in the imagination, it became something more, almost a magic formula, which like the Open Sesame of the Thousand and One Nights, flung open the doors to an unknown, mysterious world to discover. In our imagination, with a bit of reverential fear due to its greatness, the mountain became a living presence, and we thought of it almost like a person ...
Three characters (a narrator and puppeteer, a singing painter, and a musician) tell intertwined stories about animals, people, and mysterious creatures that inhabit the valleys and peaks of the Cuneo Alps: stories connected by a narrative framework where the Mountain itself speaks, in which the characters of the tales take shape and life. Thus, we will meet the mythical Dahu, travel back in time when Mount Bracco was a volcano, meet an old hermit who lived at the top of a mountain with only the company of a goat, discover the strange story of a shepherd kidnapped by wolves, and with a bit of fear, we will encounter a convention of mischievous witches.
Recommended for ages 5 and up.
