Paranaperde

On Saturday, January 18th at 9:00 PM in Giaglione at the Polivalente Hall, concert of traditional music organized by the Paranaperde.

The Paranaperde propose traditional music from the upper Dora Valley: “we aim for something that is traditional music in the simplest sense, the one from which it comes.” The group was founded in 2004 from the meeting of friends driven by the charm of being able to make people dance even in the Upper Susa Valley, initially to the sound of a small organ, clarinet, and guitar. The enthusiasm for being able to propose live folk music from the alpine tradition, shared with a group of dancer friends, realized this project, bringing sounds of other times back to our valleys. The musical repertoire selected includes music and dances from the Upper Susa Valley and the entire Occitan area in general, with particular attention to the transalpine French valleys, which are rich in traditional listening and dance music, such as waltzes, mazurkas…

Massimo Falco: vocals, clarinets, musette, and piffero
Simone Del Savio: vocals, violin, mandolin, and bassetto
Oscar Franzini: violin and hurdy-gurdy
Riccardo Micalizzi: vocals and small organ
Giorgio Fasano: small organ

As part of the seleventh edition of "Chantar l'Uvèrn. From Epiphany to Easter, fragments of Occitan, Franco-Provençal, and French language and culture": the cultural festival that enhances original creations and promotes the Occitan, Franco-Provençal, and French language and culture through a rich and widespread territorial animation with musical, theatrical, anthropological, documentary and environmental events.
