  • Raise awareness among students about the importance of conserving plant species

Trees are the real protagonists in the Grand Bosco di Salbertrand Park, established in 1980 to protect a unique forest of fir trees.

By playing, we will learn about trees and the characteristics of their wood.

Description

Learning about the different tree species in the woods for a correct botanical classification and to discover their qualitative characteristics: lightness, elasticity, strength, weight.

Each child will collect dry twigs during the walk that they consider most suitable for building model boats, which will then be "launched" in the small lake at the Icehouse.

Methodology

The walk in the woods will allow us to discover the many trees that populate it. We will collect natural materials that will allow us to carry out a laboratory activity of building small rafts, evaluating the technological characteristics of the various types of wood. Making them sail on the Icehouse Pond will be great fun!
