Orientation and Reading the Territory

Get to know the environment and learn how to navigate the woods using orientation systems, from empirical to scientific ones.
The outing in the Park, map in hand, will be an opportunity to learn about the territory and interpret its graphic representation, to learn how to read a topographic map (scales, contour lines, conventional signs) and orient with a compass, to discover the behavioral rules to follow and the signage of the Protected Area.

The use of orientation techniques will be a tool to play while developing spatial perception, observation and concentration skills, recognizing one's own strengths and limits.

A short outdoor lesson on how to orient a map and identify the direction of travel will allow concluding the day with a fun orienteering competition with a treasure hunt. The activity is also advisable as a complement to physical education lessons.
