Wear the Wolf in a Back Pack and take small steps towards a possible coexistence

The educational proposal is linked to the Life WolfAlps EU project, which aims to improve coexistence between wolves and human activities and ensure the long-term conservation of the wolf in the Alps.

Description

An increasingly anthropized Earth urgently requires us to reflect on the needs, critical issues, limits, and necessary strategies for sharing spaces with other living beings and utilizing the resources present on the planet.
Perhaps the premise of coexistence is initially to listen to different points of view and engage in dialogue with positions that may be distant from our own, immersing ourselves in the complexity of these topics and the uncertainty of the answers, finding ways for shared solutions with those who inhabit the territory.
Wolves and large carnivores are a good excuse to walk together a piece of this path: humans and wolves have shared a long history that has inspired legends, fairy tales, and myths that give us back a wolf perceived with strong ambivalences. This perhaps strongly compels us to choose whether the human species is superior to other living beings or there is an increasing need to recognize oneself as part of an ecosystem that needs to find a balance not necessarily guided by humans.

Methodology

A path that will challenge us to play on our ability to engage in dialogue-listening, accept different points of view, and see through the eyes of others, while also making us reflect on the major emergencies of recent years in relation to our relationship with nature. The management of common spaces, tourist pressure in some areas with a significant impact on the environment and local communities, the issues of old and new coexistence with wildlife, and the approaches being implemented in territories to find possible balances, the increased complexities of cohabitation sometimes due to incorrect attitudes, the need to rediscover/establish new rules to imagine paths of greater responsibility towards conscious choices that can bring about significant changes and give us a vision of a possible future.
