Due to the heavy spring rains in natural areas (wetlands, meadows, woodlands), several species of mosquitoes have developed this year that are causing widespread infestations.

The mosquito project implemented by the Protected Areas of the Cozie Alps and the municipalities of Avigliana, Sant’Antonino di Susa, Trana, and Villardora is coming to a conclusion to raise awareness among the population about the issues related to the presence of culicids in the area of the Avigliana Lakes Natural Park and its surroundings.

The project for biological control of mosquitoes is implemented with the aim of containing the number of Culicid individuals (mosquitoes) in the territory. It is based on a specific law of the Piedmont Region, L.R. 75/95, which has established that 50% of the funding is borne by the Municipalities and the other 50% by the Region.
