Male deer - Giuseppe Roux Poignant
Autumn is approaching, and with it comes that incredible time of year when the woods are tinged with orange and red, and the roar of the deer echoes across our mountains.
During the mating season, from mid-September to mid-October, male deer emit powerful and deep calls to attract the attention of females and, above all, to intimidate and demonstrate their superiority to other competitors.
The males communicate with each other through roars, in a competition that can lead to spectacular encounters between deer, with challenges of cunning, agility, and strength to determine who deserves the right to mate.
The Alpi Cozie Parks guides organize various events to witness this spectacle of nature.
