Signage is essential to determine a good level of accessibility to the park locations and contributes significantly to user orientation and appreciation of the proposed territories.
Our organization has committed itself to categorizing the types of signs present in the territory of the Protected Areas, determining different typologies:
Access signs: at the main accesses to the parks there are welcome portals, containing the name of the managing body and the name of the protected area and a welcome message in relief
Boundary signage: "the border signage and the internal and access signs of the protected areas under regional, provincial and local management are created according to homogeneous standards defined by resolution of the Regional Council, after consulting the provinces and municipalities involved" pursuant to the Consolidated Law on the protection of natural areas and biodiversity (Art 9.4). These are green signs indicating the Piedmont Region, Protected Area and references to the establishing law.
Hiking signs: indicates the itineraries and hiking routes based on the resolution of the Piedmont Region
Information signs: there are wooden noticeboards with illustrative panels at the main points of interest (mountain pastures, refuges, etc.)
Itinerary signage: indicates long-distance itineraries or thematic routes that have adopted an identifying symbol or logo. Some are marked with identifying and territorial colours, such as the White/Red trail sign. To date, the following panels are present in the park:
Ecomuseum signs: Ecomuseum route.
Each type of signage has been regulated by the Piedmont Region and defined according to standards in agreement with local and municipal bodies
