Within the territories of the Parks of the Cozie Alps the circulation of motorized vehicles is – obviously – prohibited off-road, that is outside the ordinary roads, but also on certain municipal and provincial roads.

The circulation of motorized vehicles is prohibited on certain routes within the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Nature Park, on all roads in the Val Troncea Nature Park, on some routes in the Orsiera Rocciavré Nature Park, and on the stretch of Via Monte Pirchiriano within the Avigliana Lakes Nature Park.

In protected areas, motor vehicles cause primarily disturbance to wildlife with the noise produced by vehicles and can cause accidents. Indeed, it is common for slower animals – from hedgehogs to mollusks, to all those microscopic and macroscopic insects – to be crushed when crossing a road and may meet their end under the tires of cars even if they are moving at low speeds. The disturbance from motorized vehicles also affects visitors, hikers, or cyclists, who wish to explore the Parks in a gentle manner, with the calm and tranquility necessary to fully enjoy the ecological and landscape heritage that surrounds them, without having to worry about the arrival of cars or motorcycles.
Gentle and quiet use that a Park Authority prioritizes.

The needs of people are still respected within protected areas, which, by statute, are required to promote coexistence between humans and the natural environment and conscious enjoyment.

Permits (authorization stickers) to circulate with motorized vehicles on roads within the Parks can be granted, but under specific conditions and for particular reasons. They are issued to individuals with disabilities who possess the appropriate sticker, to property owners, to those engaged in work and economic activities (agro-silvo-pastoral, refuge management, etc.) or for research or scientific study strictly along the routes necessary to reach the requested location. Not to mention vehicles for rescue, surveillance, and fire-fighting.

In each Nature Park managed by the Authority, a specific regulatory framework for the circulation of motorized vehicles applies, along with related forms.
