It will be a festival dedicated to the mountains, and in particular to ethics, adventure, and respect in the exploration of high lands, as the subtitle of Bardomont reads, the new event that will liven up the town of Bardonecchia from December 6 to 8, 2024. The program is really rich with conferences at the Palazzo delle Feste and some excursions in the area: meetings, lectures, and concerts covering a wide range of topics from mountaineering to sustainability. Among some big names such as the mountaineers Nives Meroi, Nicolas Favresse, and the protagonists of the recent expedition to K2, Anna Torretta and Federica Mingolla, there is also space for literature with Valeria Tron and Enrico Camanni, and most importantly, for the environment with the Protected Areas of the Cozie Alps in the spotlight in the conference entitled "Who's Afraid of the Wolf?", scheduled for Sunday, December 8 at 10:30 am, always at the Palazzo delle Feste. Luca Giunti, park ranger, and Marco Pozzi, official guide of the Cozie Alps Parks, will be present, together with Luca Rossi, professor of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Turin, and moderated by Riccardo Topazio of the festival's organizing committee. The discussion will focus, as suggested by the title, on the wolf from a scientific perspective and in relation to the issues of coexistence with humans. Giunti, a monitoring officer in the Orsiera Rocciavré Nature Park, has dedicated himself to the wolf from a practical and theoretical point of view throughout his career as a park ranger in a protected area where the predator has been back for over 20 years, and as a naturalist in other parts of the world where wolves have always been present; his research has resulted in a popular science book, "The Consequences of the Return," published by Alegre in 2021. Pozzi, a naturalist guide, has recently coordinated the development of a specific educational path dedicated to the large carnivore proposed by the Cozie Alps Parks to school groups visiting.
