Starting from 2016, a portion of the contribution is aimed at research on the geographical expansion of ticks belonging to the Ixodidae genus and biomolecular research on zoonotic agents transmitted by ticks conducted in collaboration with the Department of Veterinary Sciences of the University of Turin.
In the past year, the presence of ticks has been studied in two protected areas of the Cozie Alps: the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Natural Park and the Orsiera Rocciavrè Natural Park. Monitoring is essential to assess the altitudinal and temporal distribution of Ixodes ricinus, the wood tick, responsible for transmitting a large number of medically and veterinary important pathogens. Future sampling will provide new information and validate the results of the Orsiera study area, which was sampled for the first time in 2023. New biomolecular analyses will also be carried out to assess any evolution in the presence of zoonotic agents. From 2013 to the present, 5x1000 contributions for scientific research of the Cozie Alps Parks have gradually increased:
Attention! The 5x1000 does not change the amount of your IRPEF tax and is cost-free for the taxpayer; it is simply the portion of income tax of individuals that by completing the tax return can be decided to be allocated to non-profit entities as well as some public administrations listed in the beneficiaries' list. Also, the choice to sign is not an alternative to the 8x1000.
