The very fluctuating weather conditions of the ongoing winter require the utmost caution when facing any mountain excursion due to the presence of ice on forest roads and trails.

In the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Natural Park, a light snowfall has covered the ice patches already present on the ground, making them particularly difficult to spot. Similar conditions can be found in the Val Troncea Natural Park where the snowfall has been slightly more abundant, but in the order of a few centimeters.

All hikers are advised to always carry crampons or spikes to safely tackle the dangers of the season.
